The location poses a challenge for light sleepers due to the nearby truck traffic from I-81, which could disrupt a peaceful night's rest. Accessing the hotel can be tricky as you must manage a roundabout and then make a quick left turn into the driveway, which can be dangerous with oncoming traffic. Lastly, while the hotel generally feels clean, it could benefit from a more thorough check of the amenities, especially in areas like the pool, which showed signs of aging.

Room was nice, clean and beds were comfortable. Convenient to the interstate and nearby resturants.
I booke this hotel because it has a pool. I have 2 boys (under 12) who like to swim. After checking in and eating we went to the pool, the boys were very excited to go swimming. Both boys jumped in then my wife, she came up and was shaking from the cold water. The water in the pool was so cold that I had everyone to get out. So lets try out the hot tub, it was almost as cold as the pool. My boys were so dissappointed that they could not go swimming because the water was just to cold for them to stay in any longer. Also, while checking in the phone rang and I guess it was the clerks boss. I had to listen to her tell of how messy the lobby and desk area was when she came in to work. Guess her boss was more important than me, the customer.....

I stay at quite a few Red Roof Inns and I found this one exceptional. Fron the helpful staff at the dest to the physical appointments of this particular hotel - this one beat all the rest as a very nice experience.. Thanks for a very nice two night stay.

The King Suite was spacious and clean. The breakfast selection was decent, with freshly prepared dishes like bacon and eggs. The highway noise from truckers kept me awake, and I encountered some strange noises, possibly from a pet, even though the hotel had a no-pets policy. Accessing the hotel was complicated due to a nearby roundabout and a blind curve when turning into the parking lot.

Everything is good or even better except for a breakfast. There are several cafes nearby (available only by car), so the breakfast is not really a problem. For example a breakfast buffet (delicious!) in Shoney's located in only 500 meters is available for only $6.5. The hotel definitely worths the money spent on it. It's a bit worn out, but still it's clean and the personal is friendly.
The breakfast is so poor that there is no reason to spend time on it. It's better to drive to a neraby cafe. We have found the list of recommended cafes and the directions to reach them right in the room! Having such nice places in only several hundreds meters from the hotel, I understand why the breakfast is so simple in the hotel itself.

It was just an excellent fit for a short stayover in Troutville with excellent value for money. The coffee maker in the room was super convenient for my morning caffeine fix. Make sure to check the breakfast offerings early if you want the good stuff.

My mother and I were traveling from PA to TN and at 86 years old, my mother is very particular about where she stays. To keep within the budget, we chose this hotel. Mother really liked it. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and we felt very safe...which is important to two older women travelers. We will stay here again. We found the staff friend, the room clean, and the continental breakfast to be more than we expected.

The staff was very friendly and even offered to help me bring in my bag. I particularly appreciated that my "four legged child" was quite welcome and did not pose an additional charge. He is better behaved than most children.
The breakfast was very skimpy.

Family with children stay mission accomplished
The staff were friendly as hell, and the place was clean, ya know? I appreciated the brown bag breakfast, real lifesaver when you're on the road, didn't have to stop and waste time at some diner.
It wasn't inexpensive, but I guess it wasn't a total loss.

Beautifully kept and absolutely great place, I truly enjoyed to be here.
The hotel was a relaxing base for enjoying a nice little area, near restaurants and the highway, grocery stores, and resturants. The location was convenient and handy, at a short distance from Appalachian Trail.

We stayed after visiting Martinsville for the Nascar Race. It was right off the expressway. It was a huge room, I booked a King Business. Staff was pleasant. It was convenient to many restaurants. Incredible value.

Have used it sporadically for the past eight years as my daughter has been both an undergraduate and then a graduate student at Hollins Univ. We are probably done with the cycle but I have been very happy with the services. I also use a Red Roof Inn near Fort Wayne, in, occasionally.
